Traveling stripes and leopard

So we made it out the door!  My husband and I were up until the early morning hours packing up the family SUV, but in the end were only about a 1/2 late getting on the road with the kiddos this morning - not bad by our standards for family travel :)

Well, I am now in the "hills of Kentucky" visiting my mom and grandparents before heading out tomorrow morning for our destination; Florida.  That is where we will spend some time at a couple of the Disney parks with the kids and some beach time before heading up to see my dad's side of the family in Tampa for Thanksgiving and the rest of the week.

I am working off my husband's MacBook Pro today and I am clueless how to operate this thing so I apologize in advance for the quality of the pictures (don't know how to use the photo editor for starters) and had to use my iPhone to get the pics since my camera is buried under suitcases in the truck.

I did wear leggings and stretchy clothing today since we are having our first Thanksgiving dinner of the week this evening.
So, without further delay, here is today super easy and comfy attire :)

Vest: Three Hearts (similar vest from North Face here) I purchased this one at Marshall's
Striped tunic sweater: French Connection  I purchased this one at TJ Maxx
Leggings: Express  current season - best leggings ever!!!
Infinity Leopard Scarf: Express this season (comes in other colors)
Bag: Michael Kors Hamilton tote  I purchased this one at TJ Maxx
Boots: Madden Girl  (find similar here) I got these on sale a few years ago at DSW - no longer sell this exact style (Jessii). They are by far the most comfortable boots I own so they were an easy choice for travel today!
Fendi watch: Zip Code Ladies Grand watch - see enlarged pic below (you can find a similar one here - mine has the diamonds in the numbers and the one on this site does not, but the watch is no longer made so it is hard to find. Prices range greatly between slightly different models)

(Without the puffer vest, of course)
I really like the stripes with the leopard scarf in the same colors.

Taking advantage of the beautiful scenery here....fun to take some different shots :)

Watch: Fendi Diamond Zip Code watch.  Band is interchangable and comes in many colors (brown, white, tan, grey, etc). I am definitely looking to eventaully get another one or two so I can change them out now and then.  Christmas maybe? :)

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Saturday!

Rain, Rain go away.....

Well, I guess everyday can't be sun shining and beautiful. Today is a very overcast, rainy day, but we have so much to celebrate anyway!
My family is on our way to my son's elementary school for a celebration honoring our veteran's. My mother-in-law's husband, Clifford Neu, will be presented with a poppy flower "medal" and a certificate of appreciation from my boys. They are proud to have him as their grandpa and excited about the assembly.

It had to be red and/or blue for me today so I settled on a red sweater dress, my "worn probably way to much" black cardigan from several years ago at Target, beaten up Madden Girl boots and my light weight trench.

Find outfit information below and sorry about the blurry self pics....too yucky for good ones outdoors today and I wanted to show you the layers! :)

Tory Burch Sunday Best

Sunday morning here and what a beautiful morning it is - and not just becuase of this great Tory Burch shirt dress! ;)
Warming to near 70 degrees today this is a rare November day indeed and I am taking advantage by wearing my latest purchase with no tights, no jacket and no scarf. Just a beautiful, simple, lightweight and stylish Tory Burch dress for a nice casual sunday look.

Dress: Tory Burch "Tanyei" - purchased at TJ Maxx last week. Selling out or sold out everywhere that I had originally found it.  I picked up at TJ Maxx for less than half the original price! If you like the dress and would like to own one of your own I would definitely check the TJ Maxx close to you!  (find similar here and here - possibly!)
Handbag: Michael Kors "Hamilton" tote (find purchase info in this blog entry)
Boots: Madden Girl - purchased a couple of years ago. (find similar here)
Arm candy: Michael Kors watch, Stella & Dot bracelet, Hammered Bangles - similar here
Today I mixed my silver and gold pieces. My MK watch and hammered gold bangles were pulled together perfectly with my Stella & Dot "Vintage Twist Bracelet". I also add my gold "Belle Fleur Ring" (no longer available in gold, but you can get a great gold ring here). My left hand incorporates more of the "silver" with my white gold weding set. This also effortlessly pulls together the silver accents on my Hamilton tote to the gold colored buttons and accents on the Tory Burch dress.

Well, that is all I have for today..... Hope you enjoy your Sunday!

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and Warm Temps!

Good morning All!

Today is going to be a great day.  I started my day off with a volunteer appreciation lunch with my fellow PregnancyCare of Cincinnati company greats!  It was such a nice treat and I was so glad to be able to attend. I just began my work with PCC back in July and they have already been such an amazing blessing to me.
To celebrate and partake in the lunch I decide on some easy layers since it was supposed to warm to almost 70 degrees today (which it has - yay!).

Here is what I ended up with this beautiful day:

Printed Rayon Dress: Simply Vera by Vera Wang - older (find similar here and love this one!)
Scarf: from Etsy (find similar here)
Cardigan: Mossimo from Target - very old....I would retire it if I could find one I liked even half as much as it is pilling like crazy ;( Super light weight, 3/4 sleeves, perfect length,  has some stretch and is the perfect fit for me to button or leave unbottoned...goes with EVERYTHING! *sigh* (find similar here)
**I know I actually wore this same scarf and cardi combo yesterday afternoon. It's definitely a favorite combo becuase they go with so much and top off the outfit for me :)
Open Toe Wedges: American Eagle - older, I purchased at Payless (find similar here and here)
Handbag: MK "Hamilton" Large Tote  (find here and here)

Right hand/arm candy: Ring =Stella & Dot - no longer available, Bracelet=Prestige Jewlery (find similar here)
Left arm candy: Watch=Michael Kors (find here), Bracelet=old (find similar here)

Earrings: Stella & Dot (find similar here)

Date night to "Relish" with James Bond!

Well, we started dinner tonight at one of my favorite places to eat: Relish Modern Tapas - mmmmm!  After we had our fill of great food and wine we headed over to see the IMAX version of the new 007 - Skyfall movie.  Of course, this was more for the hubs, but I actually really enjoyed the movie, too :)

And here is what I enjoyed it all in:

Sequin Tank: Willi Smith- purchased at TJ Maxx (find similar here and here)
Jeans: PRVCY (older) - find similar here and here
Cardigan Sweater: Design History - purchased at Marshall's (similar here and here)
Leopard Print Scarf: purchased at TJ Maxx (find similar here and here)
Booties: Steve Madden "Jessii" in taupe suede with stud detail - so sorry that you can't really see these! Super cute and fun I love to wear these with a great dress or skirt, too. (find similar here and here)
Handbag: Michael Kors "Hamilton" (find it here)

~Michael Kors "Hamilton" studded bag (ad below)~

Flower Ring: Stella & Dot  - really love this ring it is now only in pewter (find it here or similar in gold here)
Bracelets: I purchased these last year at Target - 2 hammered bangles and a leather wrap (find similar here and here)

What a great night!  Now my pillow is calling my name....until next time :)

Mommy Style

So this morning was very busy!  All 3 boys were off school today and we had parent teacher conferences followed by our school's annual "skating party" at the local Rollerina.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am the Yearbook "person" so I have to attend events and take pictures to make sure I will have photos to put in the book! I actually really enjoy taking pictures and I usually have a partner in crime (my co-chair), but she was out of town today so I was on my own for this event. My husband did come with me so that made it a bit easier to wrangle 4 children (one of them 8 months old!) and all the activities.   To accomplish all of this I pulled together a very casual and comfortable outfit complete with my favorite ballet flats to navigate the wood skating floor so I could help my 6 year old on skates AND manage to get a few pictures of the other students as they skated by!

Cardigan(old): Target
Polka Dot Blouse: Forever 21
Skinny Jeans: a.n.a. (find here)
Flats: Coach (find here and here)
Scarf: hand made from Etsy store
Watch: Michael Kors (find here) & Bracelet (on left arm): super cheap turq bangle - can't remember where I got it!
Tiffany & Co. bracelet on right arm
Stella & Dot ring on right hand
Earrings: (can't even see them in pic so see above!) Stella & Dot (here)
Handbag: Michael Kors - found at TJ Maxx for almost half the price they are selling for on MK's website! It was the only one in that style and lonely so I had to take it home (plus I had been craving it for a while! Imagine how excited I was to see it hanging there before my eyes one glorious day this past week!! ;)
Find it here

Momma on the go! :)
I am also toting my Oi Oi Diaper bag (find here) - LOVE! And check out this  Quinny stroller (the only full size stroller that will fit my daughter's car seat by Maxi Cosi and folds up small enough to fit behind the third row seat when it is in the fully upright position!) Super easy to push and operate - worth the investment! We bought this one at a discount at Buy Buy Baby as they had accidentally "assembled too many of them" and didn't have room to keep them all on the floor. It was my lucky day!  Saved us $150!!! :)
Okay, now typically I wouldn't have both bags at the same time. But for the sake of getting a shot of them both and the size comparison, I wanted you to see them together. The MK bag is big, bug fairly light weight compared to the diaper bag and MUCH more organized on it's interior. I HATE digging in my purse and this bag has a pocket and compartment for everything. In love.....
No worries - I will NOT be using the MK for a diaper tote ;)
Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Shopping day!

Okay so this morning I had a PTO meeting (I am our school's Yearbook Chairperson :) had to drop by the bank to sign some papers and then I had a little bit of free time on my hands. Fortunately (or unfortunately ;) I live directly across the street from TJ Maxx and ours carries top designers (Tory Burch, Steve Madden, Michael Kors, Emma Fox, Love Moschino, Seven, etc) . I thought I would stop in and see what they had today and maybe I could spot me that elusive gold watch I have been looking for. I can't seem to find just the right one for me!

Well, what I found was ALOT, but it didn't include the gold watch :/  I took pictures of what I tried out today below. I ended up putting some back for the sake of my wallet, but it was a really good day in the dressing room. Most of the time I am the girl who goes in with 10 items and rarely wants to leave with more than a couple....today I had to decide which 6 I liked the best!  Woohoo :)  Take a look below. Maybe you will see something you sparks your interest and you'll be on the hunt. I do love a good hunt!

Dress (Above): Love Moschino (find here - also comes in beige and red!) - I did end up purchasing this one. This was on the clearance rack for $79! It was the last one and a size 4 (size smaller than I would typically go for, but it fit well - only slightly tight in the bust - I couldn't pass it up for the $$ :)
PERFECT type of dress to go through ALL four seasons....love it paired with boots and a cardi or blazer with or without tights and equally cute with bare arms/legs and sandals. Lots of great possibilities
Moschino original price = $325!

Dress (above): Tory Burch "Tanyei" (find it here and here ) - I love a good shirt dress, but have not seen a good one that I wanted to purchase in a while. Imagine my elation when I run across this "one and only" Tory Burch black shirt dress hanging in the store! Seriously, I hit the jackpot on this one. Of course, I checked out with this one today :)
I know you can't tell from the pics in the dirty mirror in the dark dressing room (ugghh), but this is a super soft, sleek perfect weight material with just a touch of spandex. The sleeves are also rolled up to 3/4 sleeves, but they can be let down for a full sleeve if you prefer.   I love it with the boots and bare legs and I am anxious to try it with tights and booties, too :)
The Navy one that I linked for you above from Cusp is a STEAL just in case you are interested in this dress. Tory Burch tag on this dress is $395!

Both of the above dresses were Calvin Kline.  I actually liked them both, but didn't love them, ya know? The grey one I was leaning toward more because I could see it with tights and a blazer for work. The stripe one was really cute with the little white belt at the waist, but the stripes made me feel like a prisoner. I could picture it with some cute pumps and a light weight cardigan for work, though. Sigh.....what is a girl to do?!  LOL ;)

Skirt (above): Michael Kors (similar here) Sweater (above): Fenn Wright Manson (similar here)
I did end up with the sweater, but not the skirt.  The skirt was really comfy and now looking at it in the pictures I may go back and get it.  I didn't think I would wear it enough, but I am thinking that isn't true now! There is always one that gets away...... ;)

Sweater (above): Berretti (similar here) - I did go home with this one. I loved the over sized comfiness of this sweater and the color/design and fringe are great (you can't really tell the color, but it isn't just black and grey it also has a smokey blue, charcoal, tan and taupe in there.  I am looking forward to this one with skinnies and my Uggs :)

Cardigan Sweater: (above) oneA (similar here)
~Tank, leggings and scarf all mine~
I did buy this sweater, as well. Super light weight and love the open weave.  Slightly longer in the back makes it great with leggings.

Sweater (above): Elisabetta Collection (similar here)
~Again tank, leggings and boots were what I walked into the store in~
I also took this sweater home....I guess this was a sweater buying day!  This one I loved (not with this tank) for jeans with a fun top underneath.  It is a rich walnut color (I know you can't tell from the photo) and I dont' have any other sweater in that color so I really like that.  The collar is also really fun the with asymmetric button closure.

Okay so that was fun!  I hope you enjoyed and maybe even got a few good ideas of your own.

Who doesn't enjoy a little green???

I really love green and I couldn't pass up this super yummy and happy mint scarf that I ran across a few weeks ago.  Finally got a chance to wear it today and it didn't dissapoint. I paired it with one of my favorite fall staples - Zara riding boots - and an ultra comfy and fun skirt topped off with my "deal of the century" MK blazer (picked this up for only $25 when I was out of town this summer on a clearance rack - LAST ONE and in a size 4 - normally I would look for the 6 (I was nervous it wouldn't fit my ample chest, but it did - yay me!!!) the tag was $188!).
I wore this skirt a bit this summer with a simple white v-neck tee. It is that perfect medium weight material that can easily float between seasons. It has a hidden side zip, but feels and fits more like a pull on styled skirt (which I tend to like better for comfort reasons).

Blazer: Michael Kors (similar here)
Sweater: Old Navy (see it worn here in a previous entry and purchase here)
Scarf: Merona from Target
Skirt: Sandro Studio (Net-A-Porter- similar here and here)
Tights: Hue from Macy's
Riding Boots: Zara (find them here)

This is my hair on day 2 (no washing, no curling). I got up, worked my dry shampoo into my roots and then ran paddle brush through my hair...this was the result (at the end of the day -pics taken after I got home from the office around 5pm). The curl definitely relaxes a bunch from the day before, but it still works for me.
I am telling you that this dry shampoo trend has changed my beauty routine and saved me at least an hour every day! That is an hour I needed desperatly :)
I will wash and dry it tonight so that I can curl it in the morning and head out the door....not to mess with it again for at least 2 more days - yay!!
Anyway - I am really telling you all of this becuase I am hoping that it will help another girl out there today!  I wish someone had told me sooner - it would have changed my life for the better, sooner :)
(My dry shampoo of choice: Bastiste - buy here....for only $8 what do you have to lose?!)

Another famously "easy" and "effortless" outfit. If you have learned anything from reading my blogs it should be that I crave (require actually!) "easy"!  Of course I still want to feel and look stylish.

Hope you all enjoyed this 7th day of November! See you tomorrow.
