Snooty Fox

Do you sell your used clothing to a consignment shop?  Maybe you like to check out the local consignment shop to see what they have?

Well, I think both are great ideas and I am going to spend more time doing them myself in 2013!
I live just down the street from a really great consignment shop called "Snooty Fox".  They are a consignment shop for designer clothing. I have lived down the street from this little gem for about 3 years now and had only been in one time. I found things I loved that one time I went in, but I just never made it a priority to go back and take another look.
Well, today that changed! I spoke with a girlfriend who lives in my neighborhood this past weekend and she told me that she has an account there and often takes in some of her clothing and when they sell it they pay her 50% of whatever it sold for. She said she typically stops in every few weeks to "collect".  I was kicking myself for not doing this before. I mean, let's face it, I REALLY like to shop and in order to make room for my shopping I either need to add another room/closet to the back of my house or I need to clear out old items to make room for new. The problem is that the "old" items aren't usually that old and this is a great way to get some money back on those great designer pieces that I am just not wearing any longer. Not only will this help my space issues but it will help my pocket book as well...and another resolution is to budget better this year so this is a win/win for me!!

I had collected a few things out of my closet this morning while organizing and I took them in. To my surprise they took everything (well, except on khaki jacket and I don't blame them! ;) The whole process was super easy and only took about 5 minutes!  While I was in there I ran into another good friend and she was also "collecting" from her previous sales. I can't wait to see what they sell my items for. It was a total of 12 great pieces. I will let you know how it goes!

It was such a productive day!  Not only did I set up my consignment account, but I also returned several items that I had just not gotten to over the last week or two.  It felt good to get those done and off my list - also more money back in the pocket book! ;)

Well, while I was at it I thought I should post my OOTD since I did grab some quick pics on my way out the door this morning.

Turtleneck sweater (old, but SO comfy and warm!)
I.N.C. dark wash Skinny Jeans via Macy's (current season)
Zara Riding Boots (current season)
Michael Kors Hamilton Tote(current season)
Sunnies via Loft (current season)
Bubble Necklace purchased on Ebay (similar here)

Please excuse the lifeless hair in the pics....I am about 4 weeks overdue for a highlight AND it's dirty!  Due for a wash tonight!! :)

  1. You look gorgeous! I would wear this entire outfit from head to toe in a heartbeat! Love the bag too.

Thank you for posting this and for reminding me that I need to visit one of our local consignment stores to "collect" lol. I give away a lot of stuff to charity but I think now that I'm low on funds because of the wedding, I should try selling things too!

    1. I have always given my clothing away too, Noelle, and I still will give alot of it away, but for those nicer more pricey pieces I think cosignment is a great option. Especially for us bloggers. When you are running this as a business we need to be able to put a little back in the bank every now and then to fund our habit..er, I mean, business! LOL ;)
Thanks for the sweet comment! I am flattered to know you would wear this - I love your style! :)

    1. Thank you for the sweet comment, Melinda :) I am so excited to have joined the consignment world. I am fickle with clothing a lot of the time and being able to sell things I am no longer wearing to make room (and money) for new (or just new to me items) is great! XO
